Pre-season attendance: All players are required to attend a minimum of 15 practices by August 30th in order to be eligible to play. (all events count as a practice) However, we highly encourage you to attend ALL of the practices. Players will be excused on a case-by-case basis, so please contact us to determine whether you will be excused. Please try to plan your schedule to avoid missing practices. If, for any reason, you are going to miss try-out practices please inform us in advance. NOTE: Not having required items turned in is not an acceptable excuse to miss preseason.

Each player must bring their equipment to every practice. Equipment includes field hockey stick, running shoes, cleats/turf shoes, shin guards, water bottle and MOST IMPORTANTLY a mouth guard. Every player MUST have a mouth guard at every practice in order to participate. ALL NEW TO FH WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE GOGGLES, Current Varsity is NOT required but HIGHLY SUGGESTED. They can be purchased at most sporting goods stores for about $20-30. According to the rules of our leagues the mouth guard must be a color, it cannot be clear. Not having a mouth guard is not an acceptable excuse for missing tryouts. We will have some extra sticks available to be borrowed during preseason for those who want to wait until after cuts are made to purchase their own. If you are a returning player and have an extra stick, please bring it to lend to newcomers trying out for the team. Each player should also bring their own water bottle to each practice.
